Weight Loss And The Theory Of Constraints

It's always been fascinating to me how business, finance and weight loss parallel each other . 

Take a private checking account as an example . If you add more thereto than you're taking out of it, your account will grow bigger and larger . an equivalent is true together with your body. If you set more into it through eating than you're taking out of it through activity it'll grow bigger and larger . That's an easy truth isn't it? 

What a few business? If a business owner doesn't watch his business on a day to day and take action when necessary his business will most likely fail. an equivalent is true with a weight loss program. If it isn't monitored on a day to day and action taken when necessary it'll fail. Most businesses fail. So do most weight loss programs. That's an easy truth also. 

I've been an industrial engineer all my life and years ago I read a book that pertained to manufacturing by Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt, an Israeli physicist, entitled "The Theory of Constraints".


The core idea within the Theory of Constraints is that each real system, like a profit-making enterprise, must have a minimum of one constraint.

If it weren't true, then the system would produce an infinite amount of whatever it strives for. within the case of a profit-making enterprise, it might be infinite profits. 

Because a constraint may be a factor that limits the system from getting more of whatever it strives for, then a business manager who wants more profits must manage the constraint. 

There really is not any choice within the matter. Either you manage constraints or they manage you. The constraints will determine the output of the system whether or not they are acknowledged and managed or not. 

There are often many constraints during a business but I acknowledged in my engineering career there's usually a primary one. All constraints must be managed but by focusing the foremost attention on the first one, whatever is being strived for will improve. Perfection isn't achieved but improvement are often accomplished. 

It's a constant battle. 

Does the idea of Constraints apply to weight loss? Absolutely! If there have been no constraints to weight loss then none folks would be fat. Dieters are able to do improvement by that specialize in their primary constraint an equivalent because the business manager, albeit all constraints must be managed.

So what's the first constraint to weight loss? i feel it's universal to all or any dieters. The cartoon character Pogo, by Walt Kelly, said it best. "We have met the enemy and he's us." 

Yep. the first constraint to weight loss is between our ears. We prefer sitting on the couch and indulging within the pleasures of the instant instead of striving for what we might wish to have within the future. As far as weight loss cares we'd also be looking for unicorns or checking out pots of gold at the top of rainbows. We're even as likely to seek out them on reduce . 

Good information on weight loss is abundant but to reduce you want to become proactive. Knowledge isn't enough. you've to figure thereon primary constraint. you've to urge off that couch and DO SOMETHING. I wish you the simplest .
